Lovesome Inc. Mission Statement
Our program provides safe and effective activities to enrich the minds, bodies and spirits of all people, particularly those with special needs, through establishing an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and love in an equestrian environment. With the help of some very special horses, our activities enhance physical and mental skills, aid in mobility, promote socialization and communication while building independence and self confidence that our students may not otherwise experience. We are committed to a mainstreaming approach of teaching horseback riding and promote diversity in all aspects of our program, focusing on abilities rather than disabilities. Lovesome Inc. is a non-profit organization and is associated with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), a membership organization that fosters safe, professional, ethical and therapeutic equine activities. NARHA is also a national regulatory agency that assures stringent standards for quality equine facilitated therapy through instructor certification, site accreditation, program monitoring and research. All of our instructors are NARHA certified. Why therapeutic ridings? Physically, it helps strengthen balance, coordination, mobility, and muscle tone. It also helps with motor control, range of motion, sensory integration, and visual/spatial orientation. Value statements Quality: Safety: |
